Downtown Center for Community Engagement Launch

April 10, 2017

At a recent open house, officials from Stonehill College and HarborOne Bank gathered to launch the new Downton Center for Community Engagement in Brockton. Designed to be a dynamic hub for community development, nonprofit resource sharing, and civic engagement, the Center will create opportunities for collaboration and innovation between the College, the city and its residents, and community organizations.

Located in the heart of the city for easy access, the Center offers classrooms, workspaces and conference rooms, and technology to participants. In keeping with their longstanding commitment to community, HarborOne has graciously offered the space to the College and Stonehill is staffing the location and working with various community groups in the space.

At present, the Center is collaborating with Community Autism Resources, The Jefferson Awards Foundation, SABURA, Inc., Clemente Courses in the Humanities, and Brockton’s Promise, and will be accepting more applications for collaborative incubation-space partners in the future.
