Close to Evil: Holocaust Survivor Tomi Reichental Recalls Experience

October 30, 2015

Speaking before a full house in the Martin Institute recently, Holocaust survivor Tomi Reichental recalled his experience during that dark era when he lost 35 members of his family. He also discussed his educational outreach challenging Holocaust denial and his efforts to seek reconciliation with one of his former SS guards at Bergen-Belsen concentration camp.

At the presentation, the audience saw a clip from the documentary Close to Evil, which takes an in depth look at Reichental’s journey and the bridge he has built to a group of Germans who are addressing the legacy of what their Nazi parents and grandparents did during the Holocaust.

When the presentation ended, the audience gave Tomi Reichental and Gerry Gregg a standing ovation and people stood in line to talk to them and shake their hands.
