The Martin Institute at Stonehill College will welcome all candidates for Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General in a series of luncheon events scheduled over the next two months. The series will kick-off on Monday, March 17th at 11 a.m. when Democratic candidate for Lieutenant Governor James Arena-Derosa visits campus.
Arena-Derosa, who previously served as the Northeast Regional Administrator at the USDA, will tour the Farm at Stonehill and meet with faculty and students to learn about the mission of the College’s Farm, which supplies local food banks, soup kitchens and other meal providers with organic, sustainably grown fruits and vegetables.

Democratic Candidate for Lieutenant James Arena-Derosa

Arena-Derosa believes that social services, like fighting hunger or ending homelessness, are not being talked about enough in today’s political environment. Massachusetts ranks 48th in the country for school breakfast, yet every teacher knows a hungry child cannot learn.

Democratic Candidate for Lieutenant Governor Mike Lake
Monday, April 7th at 11:30 a.m.
Lake is the founder and executive director of World Class Cities Partnership, a Northeastern-affiliated research center. From 2006 to 2008, he was the director of development for United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley.

Democratic Candidate for Lieutenant Governor Steve Kerrigan

Kerrigan is the current president and co-founder of the Massachusetts Military Heroes Fund, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support to the families of military service personnel from Massachusetts who lost their lives in service to the U.S. since the September 11th attacks. From 2009 to 2012, Kerrigan served as the CEO of the Democratic National Convention. He served as the President of the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Committee.

Democratic Candidate for Attorney General Warren Tolman
Monday, April 14th at 11:30 a.m.
Tolman is currently an attorney in the government and real estate departments of Holland & Knight in Boston, where he has done litigation, real estate and corporate law. He was elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 1990 and the Massachusetts Senate in 1994.

Democratic Candidate for Attorney General Maura Healey
Tuesday, April 22nd at 5:30 p.m.
Healey led two prominent divisions in the state’s chief law enforcement office – both the Public Protection & Advocacy Bureau and the Business & Labor Bureau. Earlier in her career, she served as Chief of the Attorney General’s Civil Rights Division after serving as a private sector attorney, a Middlesex County prosecutor, and, for two years, as a starting point guard on a professional basketball team.

Democratic Candidate for Lieutenant Governor Leland Cheung

Cheung has been a member of the Cambridge City Council since 2009. Prior to that, he worked for Cambridge-based Masthead Venture Partners from 2005 until 2008.
