The Stonehill Theatre Company will kick off its 2015-2016 season with a performance of The Serpent Woman, an 18th century comedy, by Carlo Gozzi at the Hemingway Theatre on November 19, 20, and 21 at 8:00 p.m. Ticket sales begin November 9th in the Roche Dining Commons on the Stonehill College campus and through phone reservations at 508-565-1458.
This comedic love story was written in the style of the Italian Commedia dell 'arte. The Serpent Woman is a bittersweet classic that tells the story of an immortal fairy princess and her beloved prince. After the prince allows his curiosity to get the best of him, he is faced with a series of trials that he must endure to earn the princess back.
With its fast action, fantasy and beautiful, bold transformations this show, directed by Elizabeth Singer Goldman, will appeal to a wide audience.
Tickets will also be available for purchase on show nights at the box office outside of the theatre. Tickets are $5 for students and seniors, and $8 for general admission. Reservations can be picked up and tickets can be purchased on production nights (November 19th, 20th and 21st) at the Hemingway Theater Box Office, Duffy Academic Center, starting at 6 p.m.
