Patterned & Arranged Exhibit Launches at Stonehill

November 13, 2017

The latest exhibit at Stonehill’s Carole Calo Gallery, Patterned & Arranged, features the work of Kristin Lamb, Michele L’Heureux, and Antoinette Winters. Running from November 13th to December 15th, the Patterned & Arranged incorporates an explosion of prints, drawings and papercutting as well as reimagined embroidery, needlepoint, and faux animal skins.

The Gallery will celebrate the new exhibit on Thursday, November 16th with an Opening Reception and Artist Panel, open to all and free of charge, from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

These installations invite a closer examination of their individual components. They reveal rearranged realities that provoke new interpretations of traditional artists, methods, materials, and templates while simultaneously blurring the line between masculine and feminine roles and perspectives.

While chaos seemingly reigns, order is imposed through carefully considered placement. A doily is snipped and stretched to the point of abstraction. A collection of finely painted panels transforms traditional techniques and images into innovative and novel reconfigurations.

Patterned & Arranged invites the viewer to reflect on both the simple form and its complex counterpart.

Visit the gallery Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. To learn more, contact Candice Smith Corby, Gallery Director, at csmithcorby@stonehill.edu or 508-565-1897.
