With 1,300 other advocates from around the country, Eileen Mello ’18 and Maggie Bohrmann ’18 recently visited Capitol Hill to lobby for funds and support on behalf of the Alzheimer's cause. They also attended the Alzheimer’s Association’s Forum to learn about public policy, NIH funding, how government works, and networking. In addition, they met with U.S. Senator Ed Markey, Congresswoman Niki Tsongas and Congressman Joe Kennedy to discuss funding and co-sponsorship of a new bill aimed to improve care for people with Alzheimer’s. Mello and Bohrmann serve on the E-board of the campus club, Students to End Alzheimer's Disease.
