Boston Globe columnist and Vatican expert John Allen will give a talk entitled “Is Change Coming? Pope Francis and his Potential Impact on the American Church & Beyond,” at Stonehill on Tuesday, September 23 at 7 p.m. in the Martin Institute. All are welcome to attend.
Specializing in coverage about the Vatican and the Catholic Church, Allen joined the Globe as an associate editor this past February. Before moving to the Globe, he worked for 16 years as a senior correspondent for the National Catholic Reporter. He has long been an analyst of Vatican affairs for CNN and NPR.
He is the author of nine books on the Vatican and Catholic affairs, including two biographies on Pope Benedict XVI.
Veteran religion writer Kenneth Woodward of Newsweek described Allen as “the journalist other reporters – and not a few cardinals – look to for the inside story on how all the pope’s men direct the world’s largest church.”
