Sharkansky, LLP (www.sharkcpa.com), one of the region’s leading CPA firms, today announced the launch of the Sharkansky Accounting Scholarship Fund, which is available to full-time Stonehill students enrolled in the Accounting Program and entering their junior or senior years.

A total of $2,500 per year will be awarded to one or more scholarship recipients. Eligible students must be Accounting majors who are academically successful, maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Students must have demonstrated financial need; preference will be given to students from Brockton or surrounding towns.

The candidate(s) will be selected by the Director of Student Financial Assistance with input from the Director of the Accounting Program.

Sharkansky LLP has partnered closely with Stonehill College for many years, in particular through internships and employment opportunities that foster experiential learning prospects for Stonehill’s accounting students.

The Sharkansky Accounting Scholarship was established by Sharkansky LLP to recognize the important relationship Stonehill and Sharkansky share in training and preparing future accountants.

Jay Pike, CPA, Partner said, “Sharkansky has long enjoyed a good relationship with our neighbor Stonehill College, and we are happy to support their work in encouraging and educating accountants. We hope that this program will help encourage additional students to pursue a career in public accounting.”
