14th ANNUAL ALUMNI AUCTION RAISES $50,000 FOR SCHOLARSHIP

More than 180 alumni and friends braved the inclement weather and attended the 14th Annual Alumni Auction on Saturday, November 3. The proceeds from this year’s gala event will benefit the Alumni Council Scholarship Fund.

Hosted by the College’s Alumni Council, this year’s Auction raised nearly $50,000 for the scholarship fund.

More than 300 items were up for bidding during the evening’s Silent Auction (everything from tickets to sporting events and museums to home decorating items and restaurant gift certificates).

Twenty six highly sought-after items were part of the Live Auction, with Peter LaBreck ’96, associate director of Alumni Affairs, serving as the evening’s auctioneer.

Ted Riordan ’87 won this year’s raffle prize – a vacation package for two to Aruba worth more than $4,500.

The highest bid of the evening was $5,000 for a week’s stay in a resort villa in the Dominican Republic, donated by former Trustee Kitty Sierra and her husband Antonio.

Committee Chairman Bill McAndrew ’70 welcomed the audience and thanked his fellow volunteers. He also thanked the hundreds of donors for their generosity and encouraged those in the room to, “bid high and bid often”.
