Meet Professor Kendra Chencus (
J.D.
Boston
College
Law
School
) who directs the Community Development Clinic and Pro Bono Program at
Southern New England School of Law. Prior to joining the faculty of
the Law School in 2005, Professor Chencus was an associate in the Boston
firm of Hemenway & Barnes from 1998 to 2005 and she is the immediate
past President of the Board of Directors and a current volunteer of RESPOND,
Inc., a nonprofit agency that provides advocacy, support and shelter to
battered women and their children. An active member of the Boston Bar
Association, Professor Chencus co-chairs its Law Day in the Schools Program,
an annual event that places lawyers as volunteer instructors in public
schools throughout
Boston
in celebration of Law Day.
