International Students: Admission

Visiting is the best way to understand what Stonehill is all about but it’s not always easy for international students. Options that may work in such situations include participation in one of the many of the excellent summer programs that take place on campus. Online information sessions and video tours may also be an option. Finally, BostonWise can help organize campus visit for international students and families.  BostonWise also works together with the Office of Admission to help international students navigating the application process.

I knew everything was going to be different, so I was definitely scared. But I think there was an excitement in the difference and especially because the environment is safe and inclusive and conducive. The people here are wonderful.”

Language Skills Help Ensure Success

International first-year and transfer applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores as part of their application for admission.

The recommended TOEFL score is 575 on the written exam or 90 on the internet-based exam.  The recommended IELTS score is 7.0. TOEFL/IELTS results will be waived for students who score 600 or higher on the Critical Reading and Writing portions of the SAT.

While U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents whose native language is not English are not required to submit the TOEFL or IELTS, applicants are welcome to do so to better demonstrate their English proficiency.
