Faculty Technology Help

Technology Help for faculty is available from a number of sources.  Often, the starting point may be the Learning & Technology Center (LTC), especially for questions having to do with the use of technology in instruction or in research.  Otherwise:

When in doubt, call Glenn Everett, the Director or Instructional Technology (1541), or the Help Desk (1435). If they can’t help you, they will refer you to the proper person. To be specific:

For emergency help in the classroom (Top Priority—they will have someone there within 5 or 10 minutes)

Help Desk (x1435)

For questions having to do with instructional technology

Glenn Everett (x1541)

For training (of students) in Quickplace or MS Office

Jan Harrison (x1096)

For help in using the instructor’s station in the classroom

Media/Video (x1041)

or Glenn Everett (1541)

For problem resolution

Glenn Everett (x1541) or the Help Desk (x1435)

For help with video or traditional a/v questions

Media/Video (x1041)

For help with technology in the library:

Jennifer Macaulay (x1238)

Training is available from all three areas.  Jan Harrison conducts regularly scheduled classes for faculty, students, and staff in the Microsoft Office products, QuickPlace, and in general computer-related issues; but one-on-one help is available from many sources—first stop for faculty being Glenn Everett, in the Learning and Technology Center (Duffy 216).   The LTC (Glenn Everett) runs workshops on different instructional technologies, especially during Spring Training, and conducts Summer Faculty Workshops.

QuickPlace.  Student portfolios and faculty course management functions are handled through QuickPlace.  For information and/or training, contact Glenn Everett or Jan Harrison.
