If your stock is held by a broker, notify the broker that you wish to make a gift of securities to Stonehill College. Brokers need written authorization from you before they can make the transfer. Be sure to tell them the name of the stock that you want to transfer, the number of shares, and where you would like your gift to be designated when it reaches Stonehill. Once you have authorized the transfer, ask your broker to contact Stonehill’s Office of Development at (508) 565-1341. Our office will give your broker complete transfer instructions.

Charitable Gift Annuity
CGAs are the simplest life income plan offered by Stonehill. With a one-page contract, Stonehill agrees to make guaranteed fixed payments to the donor (and often a second beneficiary) for life at a rate determined by the donor’s age. A portion of the income is tax-free.

Deferred Gift Annuity
This vehicle is designed to appeal to those people who could benefit from an immediate charitable tax deduction and who wish to increase future income. This type of gift allows the donor to transfer cash, securities, and sometimes tangible property or real estate to the College in exchange for a fixed annual income starting at a later date (usually after retirement). The minimum gift value is $10,000.
