Disney Skype Lecture Series: Todd James Pierce

Todd James Pierce co-directs the Creative Writing Program at California Polytechnic State University. His book Three Years in Wonderland: The Disney Brothers, C. V. Wood, and the Making of the Great American Theme Park was published by the University Press of Mississippi in 2016. He has written a novel, The Australia Stories (MP Publishing Limited, 2009), and Newsworld (University of Pittsburg Press, 2006), a collection of short stories. Pierce has also written Visual Storytelling: An Illustrated Reader (Oxford University Press, 2015), Behind the Short Story: From First to Final Draft (Longman, 2006), and College: A Reader for Writers (Oxford University Press, 2015).

Presented as part of Think. Act. Lead., the Disney Skype Lecture Series consists of presentations by experts who have done significant work or scholarship for or about the Walt Disney Company.  In addition to presenting their work, the invited lecturers talk about the role of mentorship in their careers, and will be available to answer audience questions.  The Disney Skype Lecture Series is funded through a grant from the Davis Educational Foundation, which was established by Stanton and Elisabeth Davis after Mr. Davis’s retirement as chairman of Shaw’s Supermarkets Inc.
