Nara Shahbazyan

Biography

A highly accomplished solo, chamber, and orchestral musician, Dr. Nara Shahbazyan has performed and recorded extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. She is a member of the Eastern Connecticut Symphony, New Bedford Symphony, Cape Symphony, and the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestras, and is a founding member, Associate Director, and cellist of Ensemble / Parallax. She also performs with artists such as Michael Buble, 2CELLOS, and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. She is a lecturer at Dean College and a cello instructor at Stonehill College, the Rhode Island Philharmonic, and Brookline music schools. She has participated in numerous music festivals such as the Salzburg Summer Music Chamber Institute, the Bach 2000 Festival, the Seville Opera Festival, the Babylon International Festival, the New York City InCite Festival, the Echternach Orchestra Festival, Tufts University’s Festival of Contemporary Music, and she regularly performs at the Berklee College of Music. Dr. Shahbazyan received her Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in cello performance from Boston University.
