English Society

Are you interested in engaging with literature and culture in informal ways outside of your classes? Then the English Society, a student-led club open to the entire Stonehill community, is the place for you.

Our goal is to give students a place to enjoy and explore literary culture.

On campus, we organize speakers, film screenings, and book clubs, as well as hold meetings for members. Off campus, we see theater productions, exhibits, films, and literary sites in the Greater Boston area.

Past events have included a trip to Walden Pond, Halloween visits to the Salem Witch Museum and The House of Seven Gables, a screening of Bright Star at Cambridge’s Kendall Square Theater, and performances of A Christmas Carol at Providence’s Trinity Rep theater.

The English Society also organizes the annual Undergraduate Literature Conference in conjunction with Bridgewater State University.
