AACSB International Accreditation

The Stonehill College Business Administration Department is accredited by AACSB International.

Stonehill's AACSB accredited business program gives you a strong, competitive edge in the marketplace. You will acquire the skills, knowledge and experience needed to launch a career in your chosen field along with a liberal arts foundation that signals to employers that you are a well-rounded and adaptable thinker. As our alumni have demonstrated time and time again, it's this combination of skills that helps pave the way to professional success.

In a reflection of our Congregation of Holy Cross roots, the business program prepares students "to make ethical, thoughtful and significant contributions to their organizations and communities as professionals," and stresses the importance of courage and conviction in a global environment.

The Support You Need to Succeed

There are several factors that account for our exceptional reputation which are worth considering when comparing business programs. Among them:

  • As an undergraduate-only institution, our students are taught by full-time faculty whose main focus is teaching and advising. Our faculty bring both solid academic credentials and business experience into the classroom, and provide individual attention to students through academic advising and career mentoring.
  • The case-study approach used in many classes will sharpen your decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • You will have the opportunity to apply classroom theories to real-world experiences by engaging in comprehensive on-the-job internships either domestically or internationally and through our many cocurricular programs.

These experiences, both in and out of the classroom, combined with accessible faculty, dedicated alumni and our well-earned reputation for excellence, will prepare you well to take your next step, whether it be entry into the job market, an MBA or other graduate business programs.

Move Quickly from Learning to Doing

Stonehill's business program is renowned for getting you out into the field for the kind of real-world experience that not only adds important perspective to your coursework but connects you to the people who can play a role in determining your success after graduation.

You will have the opportunity to apply classroom theories in comprehensive on-the-job internships either domestically or internationally and through our many cocurricular programs.

Developing Ethical and Compassionate Leaders

Long before media scrutiny turned it into a focal point in the business world, Stonehill was incorporating ethical perspective and corporate social responsibility into its Business curriculum.

Learning Communities (LCs) such as "Responsible Business: From Principles to Practice" help students appreciate issues of fairness and ethics. Other LCs, such as "Building Leaders," employ community-based learning and put students in business situations in which they assist nonprofit organizations either directly or through work with the College's Center for Nonprofit Management.

Competence and Confidence

Kyle F. Grendreau '91, CFO, Samsonite International"Stonehill provided me with the foundation I needed to begin my career. The reputation of the school opened the door to the right companies that allowed me to get into the exact right job after graduation to build on my education and start my career. Stonehill faculty not only taught the fundamentals of accounting and finance but also built the confidence needed to push myself to achieve. I also had the great fortune to meet my wife, Suzanne, at Stonehill."
