Stonehill Basketball in Ireland

Women's Basketball Huddle

This May the Men's & Women's Basketball programs have a unique opportunity to travel to Ireland to compete, to tour, and to experience the Irish culture. Stonehill's "study abroad" program is an incredible experience that many students take advantage of during their four years. Because the Basketball season crosses over both the fall and spring semesters, this is an opportunity that our student-athletes are not able to take advantage of.

Our trip to Ireland, which will include an academic component, will give us the chance to experience a mini "study abroad," while competing as well. Professor Anne Mattina will be teaching a class on Intercultural Communications, which will include time in the classroom before we leave, and additional meetings and assignments once we get to Ireland. Click here for an itinerary of our trip.

The generosity of our alumni, family, and friends is key to ensuring the success of our trip to Ireland. We still have fundraising needs to be met, so this is where we are asking for help. Any and all donations toward the trip are greatly appreciated. We would also like to encourage "sponsorship" opportunities to donate to specifics of the trip, such as the following:

  • Pot o' Gold $2,500 donation (Sponsors one player's trip*)
  • Shamrock $1,000 donation (Sponsors Team tours)
  • Book Of Kells $500 donation (Sponsors Team Dinner)
  • Blarney Stone $250 donation
  • Leprechaun $100 donation
  • Clover $50 donation

We thank you for your continued support of the Men's and Women's Basketball Programs at Stonehill College. Again, this once in a lifetime experience will happen because of your generosity.
