Science Transfer Initiative

Science. Math. And a path to a bright future.

Whether you are interested in science, technology, engineering or math, there are many great reasons to take advantage of Stonehill’s Science Transfer Initiative. The program allows you to apply your community college credits to a four-year degree here, thereby enjoying the unique benefits of a Stonehill education: Working one-on-one with professors who know you by name; conducting a faculty-mentored research project; and participating in an exciting internship.

Stonehill can help you acquire the skills and knowledge you need for a rewarding career in the sciences and offer you opportunities for self-discovery that can lead to a successful and fulfilling life.

As a Stonehill science transfer student, you can:

Apply for Special Financial Aid

Scholarships available for science transfer students include a $10,000 merit scholarship for students with a 3.50 GPA. With federal and other financial aid also available, you may be surprised by how affordable Stonehill is – even compared to your community college tuition.

Learn in the Lab

As a science transfer student, you will gain real-world research experience in our $34 million, 89,000 square foot Shields Science Center the summer before you transfer to Stonehill. Through this summer research opportunity, supported by the Lloyd G. Balfour Foundation, Bank of America, N.A., Trustee, you’ll work side-by-side with faculty and fellow science students – and even earn a $3,500 stipend.

Get a Career Head Start

Whatever career you imagine, Stonehill’s Career Services team will provide the connections and tools you need – from resume building to mock interviews – to pursue your ideal internship, graduate school or a full-time position.

Discover a Community of Support

Through monthly seminars and Peer-Led Team Learning, mentoring opportunities, and extra help from tutors and academic advisors, you’ll get the support you need to navigate your new academic and campus life at Stonehill. Our partnerships with Massasoit and other area community colleges will help you easily identify the community college courses you need to take in order to transfer seamlessly to Stonehill.
