International Applicants

International Applicants are students who are not citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. who would need an F-1 student visa to attend Stonehill.

Application Instructions

If you’re an International Applicant, you must complete the following 2 steps in addition to the application process outlined for First Year-Applicants and Transfer Applicants.

1. English Proficiency Requirements for International Applicants

International first-year and transfer applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores as part of their application for admission.

The recommended TOEFL score is 575 on the written exam or 90 on the internet-based exam.  The recommended IELTS score is 7.0. TOEFL/IELTS results will be waived for students who score 600 or higher on the Critical Reading and Writing portions of the SAT.

While U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents whose native language is not English are not required to submit the TOEFL or IELTS, applicants are welcome to do so to better demonstrate their English proficiency.

2. International Student Certification of Finances

The International Student Certification of Finances must be filled out and returned with supporting documentation (Bank Statements, Affidavits of Support, etc.) before a decision can be made on your application and eligibility for a student visa.
