Senior Soloists Captivate at Spring Concert

Nicole D’Angelo ’14, Rebecca Leising ’14 and Katie Stiles ’14 sparkled at the 2014 Stonehill College Concert Band and Orchestra Spring Concert, Sunday, April 27. As featured soloists, they demonstrated considerable musical ability as each played a Mozart wind concerto.

In collaboration with the Stonehill College Orchestra, Nicole (tenor saxophone), Rebecca (flute) and Katie (French horn) captivated the audience with stellar performances of three landmark compositions from the Classical Era.

Mozart’s wind concerti are technically demanding for soloists and orchestra members alike. The performers dazzled the audience with polished and professional renditions of Mozart’s flute, bassoon and French horn concerti.

The Stonehill College Music Program offers this unique opportunity to students who wish to embrace a sophisticated musical challenge. As a soloist, students are able to showcase advanced musical skills and talent as a special finale to their Stonehill experience.
