Darling graduated from Stonehill in 1983.  After college, she worked for Catholic Charities in the organization's Foster Care and Adoption departments.  She also has experience in nursing home administration and is married to Ralph Darling, a graduate of the Class of 1980. Their daughter Bridget is a member of the Class of 2015 at Stonehill.

Their son Thomas attends Elon University.  A younger daughter, Rosemary, attends Thayer Academy.  An older daughter, Janine, graduated from Saint Anselm's College in June and is a school teacher in Newton where she resides with her husband, Josh.

Darling follows in the footsteps of her late father, real estate developer Thomas Flatley, whose commercial success was always matched by his philanthropic generosity.

The Flatley Foundation's work includes private grant making, giving programs that provide funding and other types of assistance to community services and non-profits, and the establishment of public foundations and community foundations.

Darling has been a consistent and generous donor to Stonehill College. She and her family live in Canton, MA.
